The march towards a new India cannot be complete without the inclusion of the last person standing in the line. Under Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s visionary leadership, Haryana Congress cultivated the ideology of empowering the weaker and vulnerable sections of the society.
Deepender Singh Hooda toured village Jondhi, Bir Sunarwala, Kaimalgarh in Jhajjar district and also attended the 3rd State level Kisan Sammelan on 19th January.

Deepender Singh Hooda Addressing People at Bahadurgarh

Haryana has recorded an incredible pace of development in the last few years. It has been possible because of the various pro-people, pro-growth and pro-development policies initiated by the Hooda government. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, along with his son Deepender Singh Hooda, has taken the responsibility of working towards the needs and rights of the people. Under their wise leadership, the party workers have been able to implement such futuristic plans, projects and schemes which are highly beneficial for the common man.

You might wonder that how can the leaders formulate plans for the people without even knowing what their needs and wants are?

This is exactly what the Hooda government is working towards and it’s precisely the reason behind Haryana’s exemplary progress. Over the years, Deepender Singh Hooda has developed a culture to organize various ‘Janta Darbars’ which help the state leaders get closer to common masses.
Recently, Deepender Singh Hooda toured various villages in Bahadurgarh including Noona Majra, Kanonda, Khairpur and Line Paar area in Bahadurgarh town. Here, he laid the foundation stone of much awaited Railway underpass that would greatly help the commuters and residents of this area. The total project estimation is Rs. 31 Crore. He also promised that he would personally keep a track on this Railway underpass so that work is completed well in time.

This clearly highlights the commitment of this young Congress leader towards the empowerment of common people. The Hooda government has always lived up to their promises in the state. It goes without saying that the key to prosperity in Haryana lies in the way the government connects with the people here. Bhupider Singh Hooda’s experience and Deepender Singh Hooda’s youth leadership has resulted in a perfect blend of governance which is exactly what the people want.

Deepender Singh Hooda was the youngest Lok Sabha MP when he made his debut in politics in 2005. He defeated his BJP rival by 2,31,958 votes to bag the Rohtak seat. In 2009, it was even better as the winning margin stretched by whopping 4,45,736 votes.

In his constituency, Rohtak, he is known for propagating pro-growth and development politics which has catapulted him to power there. His style of politics is strikingly different and that’s why he’s a hit amongst the people of Haryana as he likes to meet them and conduct one-on-one interactions.

Below are few such examples where he has had peaceful and fruitful ‘Janta Darbars.’

The Hooda Government has implemented various pro-people policies for different sectors in Haryana. One such initiative is the ‘Affordable Housing Policy’ that was introduced by the state Government last year. The project was aimed to facilitate easy and affordable availability of the dwelling units for common people in the state.

Haryana - Affordable Housing Policy
Haryana - Affordable Housing Plans and Policy
The policy will ensure increased supply of 'Affordable Housing’ in the urban housing market to all the deserving beneficiaries. With this step, the state government envisages to provide for around 1,25,000 affordable dwelling units having carpet area of about 500 sq ft each in the urban centres of Haryana, which are constructed through the capital investment of private sector within a period of next five years.

Once available, this supply alone is likely to serve lower and lower-middle class population of close to six lakhs in the urban centres of Haryana in the next five years period. The size of apartments to be constructed under this policy would be in the range of 28sqm to 60 sqm carpet area.

The policy will not only help eradicate unauthorised constructions and slums, but also act as an impetus to planned development. No doubt that Haryana, as a state, is leading in the holistic development in India and this step will surely add to its larger goals. Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has tirelessly worked for the growth of the state and now his son, Deepender Singh Hooda who is also an MP from Rohtak, is following his father’s footsteps in catering to the needs and rights of the common people.

The housing policy is indeed a step towards building Haryana; a stronger, better and an empowered state. In the long run, it will pave way for similar radical initiatives that would transform the living standards in Haryana.

Bagging two out of three medals in 2008 Olympics and four out of six Olympic medals in London, Haryana is indeed turning into the sports capital of India. No doubt, the Hooda Government has cultivated an efficient system to help and nurture the sports talent in the state.

Emphasizing the kind of support sportsmen get from the state government, Bronze medal winner wrestler, Yogeshwar Dutt says, “You see, everyone salutes a winner, rewards a winner. But the Haryana government has been backing us sportsmen even when we have lost. In 2008, I was disappointed with my performance but the state government supported me and in 2010, I won Gold in the Commonwealth Games and won the Bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. I got Rs. 25 lakhs in cash and the post of a Dy SP in police even after I lost. It gave me the motivation to do better.”

This highlights the level of dedication of the Hooda Government in improving the sports facilities and encouraging the sporting talent in Haryana. It is true that sports cannot prosper without strong and popular support. And Hooda government has left no stone unturned in encouraging sports such as badminton, boxing, wrestling and shooting, especially in a cricket-crazy nation like ours.

Deepender Singh Hooda has worked tirelessly towards improving the condition of other sports in Haryana. Be it Gagan Narang, the ace shooter, Saina Nehwal, the badminton champ or Sushil Kumar, the first back-to-back Indian Olympic medal winner, Haryana’s achievements in the field of sports are simply unbeatable.

“I am very proud of what they have achieved. I followed all the major events during the Olympics as far as I could. We have done what we could for these players and we will continue to provide them with the best of facilities and encouragement,” says Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda magnanimously brushing aside any credit for the performance of the sportsmen and sportswomen of Haryana.

The remarkable and extraordinary success story of Haryana in the field of sports makes one wonder, what if other states follow the foot-steps of the Hooda government? If that happens, India would definitely bag a whole lot of Gold, Silver and Bronze at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

Over the past few years, Haryana has witnessed a phenomenal development in all the areas. The efficient and transparent style of governance displayed by Deepender Singh Hooda is one of the major reasons for the rapid growth of the state. With a substantial increase in the number of roadways, rail networks, power and industrial projects, the infrastructural framework of the state has undergone a paradigm shift.

Haryana’s per capita income, at Rs.1, 23,554 (2012-13 QE), is the highest among all big states in India. Also, Haryana has outperformed all other states in mobilising financial resources during the 11th Five Year Plan. The state was able to mop up resources to the extent of 192% of the projected mobilisation as against the national average mobilisation of 92.5% of the projections.

Prestigious educational institutions such as Rajiv Gandhi Education City (RGEC), National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship & Management (NIFTEM) and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have chosen Haryana to open their new campuses.

Along with a well connected railway network, the state government has also introduced Rapid Metro, which connects Delhi Metro commuters to six key places within the city and thus facilitates better commutation.
Not just that. Haryana is also home to leading global giants like Panasonic, Maruti Suzuki, Suzuki Motorcycle and Nippon Carbide as they started their new units here. Did you know that one out of every four bicycles in the country was manufactured here?

It is fairly evident that Deepender Singh Hooda has been able to mobilize masses and resources in the most competent way, which has helped the state and its people to come a long way. The Planning Commission, too, has lauded Haryana’s progress. No doubt, the success story of Haryana highlights the effects of better, stable, transparent and credible governance.

 Haryana to Regularize Unapproved Colonies

The Haryana Government, under the leadership of Bhupinder Singh Hooda, is working towards an all round development of the state.  The Chief Minister has announced that all unapproved colonies in the state which fulfill the criteria before November 10 will be regularised to provide basic amenities to the people living there. The unapproved colonies fulfilling the criteria upto 2009 were regularised earlier, the announcement of which was made at the Gohana rally organised by him.

Addressing a public gathering in Gurgaon, Hooda said that the state government has regularised many unapproved colonies but still, there are many colonies in Gurgaon that require immediate regularisation. The sole aim of this initiative is to facilitate the provision of basic amenities to the people living there.

But why is the regularisation of such colonies so important? That’s the big question here. The answer to which lies in the problems faced by the people living in these colonies. For years, they have been kept without basic amenities like water supply, sewerage and adequate roads. Therefore, in order to bring all these unplanned areas under the purview of planned development and facilitate a better quality of life to the public, it is important that these colonies are authorized.  With this premise, the policy for one time regularisation of such unauthorized developments and constructions was generally framed.

The measure is a staunch testimony to the fact that Bhupinder Singh Hooda led Government is working earnestly towards the overall development of the state. The measure would ensure regular supply of electricity, clean drinking water, proper sewage system, bank loans against property and sale, and purchase of houses for the residents of the colonies.

Haryana’s First Nuclear Project Inaugurated

In an era where nuclear power is the only alternative available to meet the energy demands of the ever-increasing population, Haryana, under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda, gets its first nuclear power plant inaugurated. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh laid the foundation of 2,800 Megawatt nuclear power plant in Fatehabad district of Haryana. The project named as ‘Anu Vidyut Pariyojna’, will cost approximately 23502 crore Rupees and will have four units of 700 MWS each. These are Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) which will use natural uranium as fuel and heavy water as coolant and moderator.

“Our government has laid a lot of emphasis on the power sector. The power generation capacity enhancement in the last 10 years is higher than what was achieved in the previous 55 years since independence,” said PM Manmohan Singh after inauguration. The nuclear plant is expected to accelerate the pace of development and generate more employment opportunities for the locals.

The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) will build these reactors.  NPCIL is the sole body responsible for constructing and operating India's commercial nuclear power plants. The company has 21 nuclear reactors in operation at seven locations. The total installed capacity of these nuclear reactors is 5780 MWs.  The initiative clearly depicts a futuristic approach of the Hooda government that aims to capitalise well on the most vital energy source capable of ensuring a more sustainable industrial civilization.
